Remove Wallpaper Border


How your wallpaper border removes depends on what your wallpaper border was applied over, like painted walls or over wallpaper. What was used to hang the wallpaper border?

If it was hung over wallpaper, it can be easily peeled off. However, if it's on a painted walls, this may present a problem.

You can use any commercial chemical wallpaper remover if the border is reasonably new. The remover will reactivate the adhesive and let you scrape off the paper with a scraping tool.

First remove the vinyl outer covering. Peel the wallpaper border by hand and avoid using sharp razor scrapers, which may result in unwanted dents on the wall.

If the Wallpaper border material is fibrous, like paper, you can use a garden sprayer to soak it with the chemical remover, you can then easily scrape of the paper.

You may also use the wallpaper steamer removal method for removing wallpaper borders. If the wallpaper border was hang with extremely strong adhesive, you may need to steam the border longer, before removing.

Use a broad knife to scrape wallpaper border off the wall, and while the adhesive is still wet, using warm water and sponge, remove the remaining paste residue.
